Hey Joel,
It's been a long time since I have stopped in to say 'hi'. Hopefully soon I can catch up with you... Lots has gone on. So lots to share.
I see your mom when she comes into the branch once in a while. And I am always asking her about how you are doing.
I also have been checking the blog site and I am so excited to see how well you are doing with physio and the progress that you have made.
Hope that you have a good time this weekend... Go Riders GO!
Chat with you soon...

Its been odd at work on film without you... "Walled in" has been a crazy gig...but great for us painters and scenics. Nearly done...Xmas is getting close!
I would love to see you sometime... My apologies for not having seen you in person for so long.
very very best wishes

Hey Joel -

Ain't been too good at staying in touch. Been really bad at coming by to say 'howdy'. Just been one of those years.

Knew then, know now that you're strength and will is gonna prevail and you will be back playing with giant weinies in no time at all.

Ya rock, dude, ya rock.

And I'm sorry for the down days. It's gotta be tough, but never forget that it is allowed. What you are facing can't be easy. (Me, now that's a different story!)

Off to Churchill via Winnipeg tomorrow evening; back in Regina the beginning of the year and may manage to drag my sorry old off to see you. Be of good spirit and good will with the season. I love you a bunch.

Robert

PS - regarding a very old blog about size 11 pumps, I'd lend ya mine but it is my experience that rowers are all thigh and no calf - they just ain't your look, pal.

Hey Joel... Hope this weekend is a restful and enjoyable one for you..The game will be definitely worth the wait.

Jan and I are planning our bi-annual Christmas bake-off - so plan for some special treats very soon. The best part is not one of these items will contain "bran",

Love to you and hugs too!
Brenda, Lorna, Merideth and Erin (and of course CarrieJ who is sunning herself in Mexico)

Hope you enjoy the weekend!

Sorry I didn't call when I got back into the city but once again I'm sick and not wanting to give it to you or your family!
If I start feeling better I want to come for a visit sometime this week and we'll talk about Hawaii!!

Can't wait to see you and hear how things have been!

miss ya!

GO RIDERS GO! Just had to say to people who might actually share the sentiment. There is a decidedly 'un-rider nationlike' sentiment here on the coast. I keep telling people that if the riders win at least they'll be able to say their team was beat by the grey cup champs. I might just flood my teammates inboxes with the rider song - one line per email - to get them in the spirit of things.

Toronto was really good. Wish i could have stayed for the game....but my brother Jared and Lisa are using the tickets so they are excited. Work gets in the way of life sometimes.

Joel,

Blair here (of Blair and Tommy from Charlevoix :) ) It's been so long since the summer that we all hung out loving life on the beach! Anyway, I was in Charlevoix for thanksgiving weekend (Tommy and I are married now) and we heard about your accident. I did some searching so we could get in touch with you and thank goodness it worked! I have spent the last hour reading your blog and articles about you.
I want to tell you that Tommy and I were both brokenhearted to hear what happened to you. I can't even begin to think of what to say except that we are both so very, very sorry. From the looks of things, it seems like you are handling things the way I expected; with optimism, hope and strength.
You are such an amazing person who is full of light and you leave such an imprint on the lives of everyone you meet. Everyone at Whitney's (some things never change!! ) was talking about how much fun it was to have you around that summer and could not believe that this could have happened to you.
I am so glad that your therapy sounds like it is going well, if anyone can do it you can!!! Tommy and I would love to hear from you and please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Blair
PS. You might get this email twice. I sent it to your hotmail account and then I was worried you wouldn't get it so I'm leaving it here to. So happy to see how many people love and support you!!

Dear Joel,

I just thought I would share this with you! We are writing Santa letters and wishing for something other than toys. I just wanted to share with you what one boy wrote....."I really really want two things #2 is that at least 5 people in a wheelchair including Joel recover, which will be amazing!" You have touched my students in many ways!!

We are all wishing you the best!!!

Sasha and the Grade 4/5's class.
