Day twenty-three..

We are into the thick of things with physio now. Three times a day and it's killing me but I love it! If things go well this week in physio I should be upgrading again into a lighter weight wheelchair. We discovered today that we can strap a fork to my hand with the possibility of feeding myself, but I am quite worried about piercing my lip. But hey that is the trend these days isn't it? ha My brother is back for a while and it will be great to spend some QT time with him. It is good to have the family back together. Loving hearing from you all. Stay safe, jump feet first! Talk to you soon. Joel.

J,
I have had the most craziest day at work. Non stop all day. How many hit and runs can there be in one day.....I guess that makes up for the 2 days that i did nothing and was bored.
I was going to come up after work but I am in a big need for some drinks....i'll have a few for you.
I'll see you tomorrow.

And i think you would good with a lip peircing.

Hey Joel,
I just met Mila (well, reaquainted with her, we'd met this winter). I'd heard through the grapevine that she took off back to Saskatchewan because one of her buddies had just broken his neck. It was about the same time you had your accident, and I kinda thought that it was a bit too much of a coincidence. But then when I read that article and heard about Jen, I thought, well maybe it wasn't Joel...
Anyway, I saw her today and asked her what the her buddy's name was. She told me it wasn't her buddy, it was her cousin Joel. I said that I knew you from rowing, and that you'd told me about your cousin who lived out here. She said you were doing awesome, and that made me feel better. I feel bad that I haven't had the chance to get back to Sask-a-vegas and come for a visit, but work is off the hook this summer with no staff for me, so i've kinda been doing the job of 4 people by myself. Not that I'm complaining, you've made me realise what hard work is, and reading your blog has shown me what a positive attitude really does to a situation.
This post is getting long, and rambly and it time for me to go to bed.
Peace brother, keep fightin'the good fight!

Glad to hear that physio is going well! I'm out in Newfoundland at Rugby National Championships right now. I met the Sask coaches last night, and thought of you. Enjoy your time with Josh.

Hey BD,

I think you should keep that fork permanently taped on, little protection to keep the hordes of ladies away. Just kidding, well not really, mostly to keep pete the creep away.

Glad they are busting your balls with the physio.

I am pretty sure that when I get a dog I will hire you to train him. JD is good, and by good I mean he is an excellent wingman. Keep fit and have fun. I will stop by tomorrow, if you are not awake sucks to be me.

Hey Joel,

Always good to hear you are getting stronger every day. I think instead of strapping a fork to your hand you should try a pen. Word on the street is that you are a big deal now and should be signing autographs! Stack and I hope to see you in the near future when your swarm of visitors settle down.

Take Care,
Kirb

Hi Joel,

Just peeking in to say hi and let you know that we're thinking about you lots. Played cards with your Grandma last Sat night - she's quite a shark! I'll pop in soon and if it's not a good time, I guess you'll now be able to tell me to fork off.

You make me a better person for knowing you. I am extremely lucky...and thankful for the times we share. Seeing you really does wonders for me, even though it's a little rough on the old waistline, as I can't seem to stop eating all your chocolate almonds! Thankfully, you have a truckload. I can't quite put into words how you have made life that much better for everyone who knows you...and I hope you truly realize that you continue to do so every day. I know the struggle is large, but you do not have limitations, simply obstacles to overcome. And i have never had more faith in anything than I do in your ability to get through this. Now...I just locked myself out of my place again...in my pajamas...stealing some dudes wireless down the hall. But I will be there tomorrow, even if I have to show up in my super hot pink sweats. Tons of kisses....

Hey Joel,

Its so good to have this blog to catch up on what is going on... even more so considering im on the other side of the world and cant visit!

Its fantastic to see all the support you are getting - i havent really heard of any of the sitcoms etc (aussies dont get many canadian shows), but by the sounds fo it you are Mr Popular himself!!

Im so glad you are doing so well with the physio - a hard process but I can imagine very rewarding. Hopefully soon you can tape a knife to your other hand and they can bring your a 5 course dinner!!

Sending you lots of love from across the seas....

Love Clare xoxoxo

Joel, The Wolf just had Hank from Corner Gas on for an interview. They talked about you and how you are a big part of the production family. Chris and Ballsy couldn't say your last name and it was a bad attempt at it. But you are still a superstar!

This is auntie Sheila. I like Davey's new hat. Want to hear all your other plans too. Why don't you put out a line for wheelchair people. Cool pants with no legs for amputees & shirts that tear off from the back; sweaters & parkas with back velcro. This is my 2nd last day of 13. I'M RETIRED!!! Time to fork off. See you soon. Love You.

J,
I am at the Yatch Club....who would have thought they have wireless but they do. I am sitting on the picnic table where we sat that day for hours, when we were hung over eating seeds cause it was too windy to take the boat out.... and then went and sat on your uncle's sail boat. Remember I couldn't stomach the thought of having a beer but you were a trooper and cracked one right away! Thats the Joel we all love.

I was wake boarding today. The water was glass for most of the day. I got some nice air you would have been proud. You can tell summer is almost over as it is cooling off earlier and as I look up and down the lake I can only see 2 boats! Next summer you will be back here sitting with me drinking a beer. Wel knowing you it'll be more than one:)

Yes i am a loser who takes her lap top to the RBYC and on the boat!
See you soon
