Hi Shane, Donna, Joel, Josh and Kayley, Sounds like things are coming along good. That's great news. You're still in our thoughts and prayers. I'm out at the Beach often helping Mom, but don't get down to the beach often. Catch you one of these times. It's nice to see these updates.... Take care, Jeannette Bryden
Hey Joel Looking good in the specs. Nice to see the halo off. I'm trying to figure out if that is Brie saying you were already HOT in your younger days...I've always been a little skeptical of her wandering eyes. I'll swing by on the weekend with some books on CD from Brie. Glad to hear things are coming along. Cj
Though not rowers Joel, we can certainly appreciate the work ethic, and intense training required to reach the pinnacles you have reached. We know you have that inside you and expect you will call upon that reserve in the next while. We think of you constantly and are hugging you and your family every minute ... take care!
To all rowers headed to Henley this week - since Joel won't be racing I propose we honour him by using his top secret race plan. Joel - you don't mind, do you? Matt, Mike - here's the strategy that defeated you all those years.
Attention (this is where you jump the start - or, as I call it - the Haver special) Go!
1/2 1/2 3/4 Full Go
Go hard
Go harder
Repeat
I know it sounds simple but it meets both the KISS rule and DP's rule (if you're still thinking at the 1500 you doing something wrong).
If the plan doesn't work as well for you as it did for Joel, meet me at Scorecard's and we'll try his second plan ('Bundy - there's nothing wrong with your stroke that a few beers won't fix')
Oh please "anonymous" -- 'course you wanna stay that way if all you are going to 'fess up to is "Joel was already HOT in his younger days!!!" That shaggy hair, those sawdusty Carharts, that TAD on his arm, that mechanical halo. Okay. So it's Robert. Still a lech.
Somethings never change. Like me.
Like you. Your strength. Your courage. Your determination. Your will. Your being back on set real soon so I can abuse you, and 'coz it's just weird without you. And you are missed.
See you soon pal -- because if you aren't back at the Sound Stage in fifeteen minutes I will never introduce to another friend of mine!
Hey Joel! I was away and missed the card the club sent. I just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. As tragic as your accident was, it has shone a light on your inner qualities and strength. You are a source of inspiration to those around you. I, along with everyone at the club, will celebrate each of your successes as you work your way through your recovery. Go hard!
