Good Thoughts
Hi everyone! Joel is going into surgery. At 12 PM lets give him an extra boost of support and think of something great. Positive thoughts just for him and I know he will hear them. Please pass this message along! We will keep you updated and as Joel says he wants to update you all as well as soon as he can. Last night he smiled and laughed about all the comments and loves everyone so much. Talk to everyone again soon!

Like johann said, enjoy the drugs man. You are pretty much an action hero already and now you will have some steel in you. Maybe it will be titanium or even Adamantium, that would be sweet. Leave those nurses alone.....hahah screw that work 'em. See you when you are out and we will get some plan together for a pimp raft!

Joel, I have had you in my thoughts and prayers all week. I heard about the accident from Carolyn D. Good Luck today. I am wishing you a speedy recovery and before you know it you will be back at the beach. I have been reading the notes and comments daily for updates and from what I have read so far you hold a special place in many peoples hearts and you have so many people who are behind you and praying for you.

Sorry I couldn't be there to perform your surgery today, but I've taught your doctors and nurses everything I know about this kind of operation and they seem like pretty sharp cookies, so I know you're in good hands. Hey Buddy, I am not sure if you would remember me (Ken) but I am a long time good friend of your cousin John. Together with your brother Josh we have been skiing a few times together and have hung out numerous times during the Holidays you spent at the Bogard's in Calgary. I was shocked to hear from John what has happend but I know from your childhood that there is a really strong spirit inside you and you will make it through this as long as you don't give up and draw strength from the many many people who love and care about you. I just wanted to say that the thoughts and prayers of myself and my family (wife and three daughters) are with you (as well as your parents) and we all hope you stay strong and come out of surgery with your same sense of strength and determination. We love you and wish you all the best. You always struck me as a great kid with a huge heart and I know that because of this, with the help of friends and family you will be well.

Gwen here. Just finished reading the update and progress you are making. Wow. I am in awe of you and your strength and courage. With the love and help of your family and friends, you will do it my friend. Keep up the great work, I know it is hard, tiring and frustrating at times. What in life isn't??
